Bamidele Salam, lawmaker representing Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency on Thursday announced to people of his constituency that, he had received 600 bags of fertilisers from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security on Thursday.
The lawmaker who made the announcement via his social media handle, however, charged registered farmers’ groups to contact the constituency office, located opposite the Seventh Day Grammar School, Ede, for necessary documentation and to benefit from the fertiliser distribution.
Rep. Salam while hinting that, the exercise is expected to commence within the next few days said,the fertilisers are to be distributed to farmers within his constituency to support the 2024 farming season.
According to him, “the distribution will be handled by the constituency office through farmers’ associations and interest groups in the affected local governments.”
He thereafter expressed his appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for the support, stating that the fertilisers will enhance agricultural productivity and food security in the constituency.
