Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to enhancing women’s standards through the All Progressives Congress (APC) government’s “Renewed Hope Initiative.”
She made this pledge during the 9th graduation ceremony of the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, where she was conferred with an honorary Degree of Causa in Law.
Represented by the wife of Gombe State Governor, the First Lady emphasized her longstanding dedication to women’s causes, which she has championed since her time in the Senate.
She highlighted several initiatives she has launched, including the “Alternative High School for Girls” and the “Young Farmers Club for Pupils in Upper Primary and Secondary Schools,” all aimed at promoting women’s development.
“Education has always been the cornerstone of my belief in personal development and enlightenment,” Tinubu stated. She also announced a donation of Fifty Million Naira to support the best graduating students of FUDMA, reinforcing her commitment to education.

In his address, the Chancellor of the Federal University, King JaJa of Opobo, Chief Dandeso Douglas JaJa Apobo, urged the graduates to avoid criminality and to serve as exemplary ambassadors for their alma mater.
He encouraged them to utilize the skills and entrepreneurial training they received during their studies.
Pro Chancellor Col. Abdulmumin Aminu reported that the university has taken significant steps to address insecurity affecting students and staff on both campuses.
He assured attendees that normal academic activities would soon resume at the institution’s permanent site, thanks to enhanced security measures.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Armaya’u Bichi shared that the university is actively working to boost its internally generated revenue (IGR) through various initiatives, including establishing consultancy services, launching a bottled water brand (FUDMA table water), and creating a microfinance bank, alongside staff primary and secondary schools, and a printing press.
This graduation ceremony not only celebrated academic achievements but also reinforced the commitment to education and community development, particularly for women, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the APC government to empower future generations.
