Remain steadfast in God, Omoniyi tells Christians

THE General Overseer of the Christ Apostolic Mountain of Faith and Deliverance Ministries, Prophet Oladele Omoniyi, has urged Christians to continue to remain steadfast in God for He has the power to turn their scorns into glory.

Prophet Omoniyi, who is also the president and founder of the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Christ for the Deliverance Empowerment Initiative Incorporated, Alagbado, Lagos, made this known in Lagos, on Thursday, during the church’s one-day monthly programme with the theme: ‘Remove me from my scorn and contempt for I keep your status,’ gotten from Psalm 119:22.

The prophet stated that the significance of the event, organised by the church in collaboration with his NGO, was to encourage people to believe in God who possesses all the power to remove the reproaches and the contempt of all human beings.

“Christians can live a life that is free of scorn and contempt, a life without sin, not by going to church alone, but also by knowing Christ.

“My message to Nigerians is to remain steadfast and believe in God at all times in trying periods,” he said.

According to him, reproach and contempt are the opposite of glory. He stated that reproach turns a person into an outcast, adding, “A reproached man will become irrelevant to society; his opinion and presence will not matter on any issue.”

Quoting Genesis 29:17, he used the lives of Leah and Rachel to demonstrate the theme of the event. Also, quoting 2King 7:3, the story of the four leprosy men, he added, “Reproach creates a wall of separation.”

Prophet Omoniyi assured Christians that God is always thinking well of them, but sin is the only hindrance to their deliverance.

The prophet stressed that the causes of reproach are curses, sins, and evil foundations inherited through lineage. He stated that the only cure to sin and reproach is in Christ, stressing, “Every encounter with Jesus nullifies reproach.”

Guest Speakers at the Programme were Reverend Theoplous Adeduwura; gospel guest artist and pastor, Mrs Amaradi Chidi Alagbado; and gospel artist and lady evangelist, Mrs Oladele B. Florence.

Prophet Omoniyi said the programme was not meant for spiritual benefit only. They seized the opportunity to offer financial help to some members of the church and to celebrate the birthday of Deaconess Mrs Oladele Kehinde Idowu.
