Reliance Infosystems Limited has joined leading software company, Microsoft Nigeria to charge organisations on digital transformation adoption. The call was made recently at the Christmas-in-the-Cloud event which held at Microsoft Nigeria office premises, Victoria Island Lagos and had in attendance CIOs and CEOs of leading organisations in Nigeria.

Welcoming participants, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Infosystems, Mr Olayemi popoola noted that Christmas in Cloud is an initiative of Reliance Infosystems in partnership with Microsoft Nigeria to charge organisations to leverage ICT solutions for profitability.

According to him, “Christmas-in-the-Cloud is an annual year-end event that brings together C-Level executives across various verticals to share ideas on how to widen the impact of technology input in companies’ performance.”

Speaking further, Popoola stated that it is imperative for organisations to embrace digital transformation if they are going to make headways in today’s competitive business world. He hinted on the need for organisations to adopt technology that connects with people indigenously, while also using same to increase the value and efficiency in all aspects of their business models.

While delivering a note on why organisations should adopt cloud technology, Head of Legal Affairs at Microsoft Nigeria, Mr John Edokpolo, mentioned that today’s realities have conditioned organizations to take their businesses beyond what it used to be in the past and more businesses all over the world are seeing the need to be in the cloud. On why organizations should trust Microsoft cloud, Edokpolo said organizations who entrust their data to the Microsoft cloud have every right to feel safe as data safety is key.

“Because it’s your data, you decide who gains access, and you work with us to decide where it is located. To safeguard your data, we use advanced security technology and cryptography. Our compliance is independently audited, and we’re transparent on many levels—from how we handle legal demands for your customer data to the security of our code. We offer detailed trust information on each of our cloud services,” Edokpolo said.
