The Nigerian Red Cross Society has lauded the efforts of Zamfara State Governor’s wife, Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, for her humanitarian services to poor and vulnerable people, describing her as a mother with a humanitarian heart.
This was disclosed by the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Kende, who led a national and state executive delegation on a courtesy visit to the Mother of Zamfara Red Cross, Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, in the state.
Dr Kende, who was in Gusau, the state capital, for an official visit, described the Zamfara First Lady, Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, as a mother with a humanitarian heart who brings smiles to less privileged persons in the state.
He appreciated the efforts of the Governor’s wife and her laudable initiative programmes aimed at improving the living standards of women and children in the state.
“We at the Red Cross Society appreciate all that you have been doing towards improving the lives of poor and vulnerable families. We are aware of your humanitarian services to people in the state—it’s commendable, and we stand by you in that aspect,” he stated.
In her address, the Zamfara Governor’s wife, Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, appreciated the activities of the Red Cross in the state, stressing that she would continue to assist the organisation in its service to humanity.
Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, the First Lady of Zamfara State, is regarded as the mother of the Red Cross in the state.
