Real estate to build 500 housing units for service officers in Kogi

A fast-growing property management company in Kogi State, Good Trust Real Estate, has unveiled plans to build 500 housing units for both serving and retired service officers in the state.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Good Trust Real Estate, Hon. Peter Suleiman, made this announcement during an interactive session with journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Hon. Suleiman stated, “Military personnel such as the Nigeria Army, Navy, and Air Force are part of our target beneficiaries. Paramilitary personnel such as Immigration, Customs, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Correctional Service, and Fire Service are also beneficiaries of this laudable project.

Business persons, entrepreneurs, those in academia, health, and other sectors of the economy within and outside Nigeria can also acquire any of these residential properties in Lokoja.”

He further explained that the estate will be strategically located to boost economic growth in Kogi State and will include two, three, and four-bedroom flats to meet the demands of their clients.

The 500 housing project aims to address accommodation issues for officers who have served the nation and wish to settle down in their state of origin.

Hon. Suleiman assured that the construction will use the best quality materials to ensure durability. He also mentioned that Good Trust Real Estate has signed a memorandum of understanding with Jaiz Bank to finance 80 per cent of the project.

“This will be the first of its kind in the history of Kogi State. Our organisation is focused on solving accommodation issues for all Kogites.

“We recognise that some military and paramilitary officers do not have a roof over their heads after serving their country. With this initiative, they can now own a property at an affordable rate in their own state,” he said.

He highlighted that the housing units are not only for serving and ex-serving officers but also for individuals who wish to reside in Lokoja, Kogi State, before or after retirement.

Hon. Suleiman emphasised that the collaboration with Jaiz Bank will expedite the construction process and called on Kogites to take advantage of this housing project for the benefit of current and future generations.

Additionally, Hon. Suleiman announced a 50 per cent discount on any landed properties acquired from Good Trust Real Estate between June and December 2024.
