Voters filing for accreditation at Ward 11, unit 2 (Holy child primary school) Nung Udo Itak, Ikono LGA during the rerun election on Saturday
The re-run election in Ikono/Ini federal constituency, Akwa Ibom on Saturday recorded large turnout of voters even as accreditation started very late in most polling units.
Some units visited by our correspondent recorded large turnout of voters who were waiting patiently for the materials to exercise their franchise.
In Ward 11, unit 2 (Holy Child Primary School) Nung Udo Itak, Ikono LGA, accreditation started at exactly 9:30 am while Unit 14, Ward 11 also in Ikono, accreditation was yet to commence as at the time of filing this report.
Speaking with Journalists the presiding officer for unit 2, Mrs Mildness David attributed the late accreditation to lack of vehicles to convey electoral materials.
She said; “There was no vehicles to convey the the election materials to this place and that was our challenge”.
In unit 14, voters were still waiting patiently for the materials at the time of filing this report.
