Re: Psychiatric hospital MD shuts down nursing school

The above report, as filed by our reporter in Enugu, was published on our online platform on July 13, 2023.

Our attention has since been drawn to some misrepresentations in the story. We therefore wish to say that we have no bias against Dr Monday Nwite, the Medical Director of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, and as such, have no intention to malign his character or person whatsoever.

While we regret the inconveniences the said publication might have caused Dr Monday Nwite, his family, and professional colleagues, and apologise for the same, we wish to state here that we hold Dr Monday Nwite in high esteem as one of the Nigerian intelligential, who have through dint of hard work, have made their marks and established for themselves, reputations that are very uncommon to have in this current dispensation.

Dr Monday Nwite, we dare say, has over the years carved for himself an amiable niche, not only in the medical profession, his chosen field of endeavour, but also among the comity of the hopes of this nation. This is how we view him at the Nigerian Tribune Online and the paper generally.

To this end, we assure Dr Monday Nwite, his family and associates alike our respect for his person, his conduct and the ideas and ideals he stands for. Therefore, the error in the referenced publication is regretted, and any insinuation drawn from it is withdrawn.

We assure Dr Monday Nwite of our utmost respect and support for his plans to take the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, to an enviable position.

Thank you.
