Re-evaluate your cabinet, Northern youths urge Tinubu

A Coalition of Northern Youths Consultative Movement (CNYCM) has called on President Bola Tinubu to re-evaluate his cabinet and appoint action-oriented ministers capable of driving significant change.

CNYCM also identified Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Nyesom Wike, and David Umahi as standout “cabinet champions” whose exemplary performances underscore their potential for key positions.

In a press conference held in Abuja, the group’s General Secretary, Comrade Bilal Galadima and its Kaduna State Coordinator, Yusuf Audu, urged the President to select ministers who are results-driven, visionary, and dedicated to Nigeria’s advancement. “The likes of Tunji-Ojo, Wike, and Umahi have demonstrated outstanding leadership and should be given prominent roles in the cabinet,” the statement noted.

The CNYCM went to further to praise Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, for his visionary reforms and enhancing the ministry’s efficiency. Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his transformative impact on Abuja and improving the city’s environment for residents and visitors. David Umahi, Minister of Works, for his relentless efforts in advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure and ensuring timely project completions.

In addition to acknowledging these achievements, the CNYCM expressed concern over escalating national tensions due to planned protests against perceived poor governance, rising living costs, and increasing insecurity, particularly in northern regions. The group emphasized the need for constructive dialogue to address these issues and prevent further hardship.

The CNYCM also highlighted several accomplishments of President Tinubu’s administration, including the establishment of Regional Development Commissions, an increase in the minimum wage to ₦70,000, and significant reforms such as fuel subsidy removal and improved passport processing times. They urged the government to build on these successes while addressing current challenges to foster a more stable and prosperous Nigeria.

The coalition further pledged its commitment to supporting government efforts and calls for immediate actions to address pressing issues, ensuring a stable and prosperous future for Nigerian youth and the nation at large.
