RCCG youth extends a hand of fellowship to Oyo State juvenile correctional institute

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Trinity Habitation Zonal headquarters, OYO Province 13 YAYA, Region 21, extended a hand of fellowship to the Oyo State Juvenile Correctional Institute, along Poly-Eleyele Road in Ibadan, as part of the activities marking the Zonal Youth Convention 2023.

Tribune Chruch News gathered that the convention with the theme, “Royal Priesthood” commenced from December 12th to 17th.

The social worker, Mrs Bosede Oyatowo, received the youth and appreciated the church’s donations including food and non-food items.

The Youth Pastor, O’seunfunmi Adetayo, who led the youth addressed the children, saying they were not neglected, as they had promised to visit them often.

“We are happy to see you, as we come with some items to give you. Next year, we will keep checking on you not once but as many as possible.” Adetayo described the children as a royal priesthood that God will lift them. He maintained that having Jesus in someone’s life will pave the way. While you have Christ, you should also develop an interest in learning a skill, and going to school should be your priority.

However, the visit revealed some needs and intervention gaps in the home such as a vehicle, furniture, solar-powered lights, non-food items, and healthcare facilities. The Youth President, Dare Adeosun, called for more support and maintained that they would continue to support the juvenile home.

The group observed that the Oyo State government alone cannot address the home’s needs, just as it urged the public, faith-based organisations, corporate and non-governmental organisations, as well as individuals to consider supporting the home, identifying with the children, and making donations to address the gaps in the juvenile home.
