Ramadan: Pray for peace, prosperity of Nigeria, Speaker Abbas urges Muslims

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has urged Nigerian Muslims to pray for the country and its leaders as they begin the Ramadan fast today.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Kirshi, Speaker Abbas emphasized the importance of Nigeria’s unity, urging adherents of all religions to offer sincere prayers for the nation.

Noting that Nigeria needs divine intervention, the Speaker stressed that political, religious, and traditional leaders also require divine guidance to lead effectively.

He specifically called for prayers and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, encouraging Nigerians to believe in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Speaker also urged Nigerians to pray for the 10th National Assembly, particularly its leadership, highlighting the federal parliament’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy.

Hon. Abbas prayed to Allah (SWT) for the successful completion of Ramadan and the acceptance of prayers and supplications during the Holy Month.

“I wish our brothers and sisters in Islam a successful Ramadan. I urge both Muslims and non-Muslims to pray for Nigeria, its leaders at the federal, state, and local government levels, as well as our religious and traditional leaders.

“Let us pray for peace and prosperity in our dear country. Leadership skills and competencies alone are not enough; we must seek divine wisdom to steer Nigeria through the current socio-economic challenges. Together, we shall overcome.”

He also encouraged Muslims to embody the virtues of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
