Ramadan: Man slumps while praying in Abuja mosque

A 52-year-old man, Salihu Byezhe, has tragically passed away after collapsing during Subhi prayers at a mosque in Gudaba village, Kuje Area Council, Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, Byezhe attended the community mosque for the early morning prayers on Thursday, after partaking in Sahur, the pre-dawn meal observed during Ramadan.

During the prayer session, he suddenly collapsed, prompting immediate action from those present, who rushed him to a hospital in Kuje. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival, with medical personnel attributing the cause of death to high blood pressure.

The deceased’s son, who was present in the mosque, accompanied him to the hospital, where the attending physician confirmed his death.

Byezhe’s burial took place at 10:12 am on Thursday, March 6, in accordance with Islamic customs.
