Ramadan: Kebbi govt distributes palliatives to residents

Kebbi State Government, on Thursday, distributed 200 trucks of assorted food items as palliatives for Ramadan fasting to citizens across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

The State governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris at the venue of distribution at the main bowl of the Haliru Abdul Stadium announced that all segments of the society have been given allocations.

Pointing out that civil Servants, teachers, local government staff, House of Assembly, NLC/TUC, Members of the Executive Council, Security Services, Traditional Institutions, Army widows, Boards and Agencies as well as residents of all the polling units in the state are beneficiaries are beneficiaries of these Ramadan fasting gift.

Comrade Idris warned against diversion or sale of the food items as he called on committee shouldered with the responsibility of sharing the food palliatives to have the fear of God in the distribution exercise, pointing out that the almighty Allah will hold them responsible in the life hereafter if there are any shady deals in the distribution exercise.

The Governor also on that day officially launched the 2025 dry season farming and distribution of farm implements to the State farmers for dry season and wet season farming.

The event was attended by thousands of farmers, politicians, and stakeholders from across the state as reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to boosting food production and ensuring food security.

Items to be distributed include: 10,000 solar-powered water pumps,10,000 gasoline-powered water pumps, 3,000 LPG-powered water pumps, 3,000 power tillers,10,000 knapsack sprayers and 10,000 liters each of herbicides, pesticides, and organic fertilizer as well as improved rice seeds and assorted fertilizers.
