Ramadan: Kebbi govt announces distribution of palliative to Muslims

Kebbi State government has designated specific mosques across the state as centers where Muslim faithful would be given assorted grains as food palliative for their Ramadan feeding on a regular basis till the end of the month of Ramadan.

Hon. Commissioner for Religious affairs in the State, Arc. Muhammad Sani Aliyu, who disclosed this to newsmen in his office, maintained that the government had to change this year’s mode of feeding people away from the previous ways of feeding the people with corn pap and akara which only the Almajiris, majority of whom are underage to fasting, are beneficiaries.

Arc. Aliyu pointed out that nine mosques were earmarked in each of the 20 local government areas of the state in which three mosques will be given their packages in the first 10 days, another three mosques in the second 10 days and three mosques in the last 10 days of Ramadan respectively.

He pointed out further that in Birnin Kebbi local government area, which is the state capital, 16 mosques are earmarked for the distribution of the food items packages.
