Ramadan: Gov Inuwa calls for sustained prayers, unity, generosity

As Muslims worldwide commence the holy month of Ramadan, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has enjoined the Ummah to embody the values of empathy, love, sacrifice, and forgiveness.

He encouraged the promotion of peace, kindness, and obedience, urging the affluent to extend acts of generosity to those in need.

This was contained in a statement by Ismaila Misilli, Director-General
(Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.

The Governor also urged the people of Gombe State to remain law-abiding and uphold the prevailing peaceful coexistence.

He emphasized that Ramadan offers a unique opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation through supplication and worship, calling on the faithful to dedicate this period to fervent prayers for peace, development, and prosperity in the state and the country at large.

Expressing optimism in the power of prayers, commitment, and patriotism, he believes the nation will emerge stronger from its current challenges.

Noting the importance of collective efforts, Governor Inuwa Yahaya acknowledged the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and fellow governors in addressing the nation’s security and socio-economic challenges.

He urged citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security forces, and report any suspicious activities to ensure peace and security, emphasizing that a secure environment is essential for the nation’s overall development and prosperity.

Thr Governor also urged clerics to emphasize peaceful coexistence, unity, and piety during their Tafsir sessions and other Ta’alimat throughout the month-long fast and beyond.

He reassured that his administration will continue to ensure peace, security, and the well-being of the people.
