The founder of Talkstuff, Rachel Ogbonna, is set to give Africa’s budding fashion talents the chance to compete and showcase their skills to the world as she hosts the fourth edition of the Africa Fashion Reception (AFR) in Addis Ababa.

Ogbonna disclosed that this year’s AFR is to discover the newest fashion models and emerging fashion designers in Africa with a mission to launch their careers in the global fashion scene.

The Africa Fashion Reception was launched in Paris in 2013. The second edition was hosted in Nigeria in 2014, where no fewer than 200 designers from over 40 African countries participated at the event, which was named a celebration of cultural diversity with the theme, “Africa is the New Inspiration of Global Fashion”.

Since its inception in 1996, the organisation has become the reference point in fashion and modelling in Nigeria. It has impacted the industry by taking African fashion to the international level. It is also the promoter of The Nigeria Fashion Week, The Nigeria Fashion Awards and the Nigeria Modeling Awards.
