Published by

Petrol filling stations in Ilorin and many parts of Kwara state now sell petrol between N580 and N720 per litre as queues for petrol resurfaced in many filling stations across the state.

According to investigations conducted by The Tribune in Ilorin, the state capital, fuel scarcity is looming as only a few petrol stations are selling fuel, while others have shut down their operations.

Prices of petrol range between N580 and N720 per litre in the few stations that have the commodity available for sale. Diesel is also being sold at elevated prices, ranging from N1,380 to N1,550 per litre.

In specific areas such as Offa Garage, Asa Dam, and Gbaagba in Ilorin, petrol is sold at N680 per litre, while in the Sawmill area, it is sold at N660 per litre.

At Olorunsogo and Sawmill, prices are at N640 per litre, while at Airport Road and Challenge areas, it is sold at N633 per litre. Filling stations along Asa Dam Road are selling petrol at N720 per litre.

However, the NNPC station along Asa Dam Road is selling at a relatively lower price of N580 per litre, leading to long queues as vehicle owners scramble to purchase fuel.

Many filling stations have ceased operations, citing a lack of supply from their headquarters in Lagos.

A petrol attendant at a station in Gaa Akanbi area confirmed that they had not received any supply of petrol and diesel in the past two weeks.
