Qatar Airways rated world’s best airlines for 2021

THE global aviation safety and product rating agency, AirlineRatings.com has named the top twenty airlines across the globe without any African airline making it to the top.

The Doha based airline, Qatar Airways was announced as the world’s best carrier a position formerly held by Air New Zealand.

According to AirlineRatings.com, Qatar Airways clinger the position at a time when the aviation industry has been badly hit by the pandemic.

The product rating agency while choosing Qatar Airways as the best of the top twenty airlines in the world in the annual event, applauded Qatar Airways for its “dedication and commitment to continue to operate” throughout the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic saying, “To be named in the top 20, airlines must achieve a seven-star safety rating and demonstrate leadership in innovation for passenger comfort.”

Among the Qatar Airways achieved a host of industry firsts achieved by the airline to have qualified it for the top spot on the list include its becoming the first carrier to complete IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and the first to be fully audited and compliant for COVID-19 by both AirlineRatings and Skytrax. Qatar Airways has also been awarded Best Business Class, Best Catering, and Best Middle East Airline.

According to the founder and editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com, Geoffrey Thomas: “For years Qatar Airways has been the gold standard, and it just keeps getting better with new passenger innovations and new state-of-the-art aircraft models.”

The airlines which made it to the top 20 ranking are: Qatar Airways, Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines, EVA Air and British Airways.

Also among the the twenty best airlines are: Lufthansa, ANA, Finnair, Japan Air Lines, KLM, Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Virgin Australia, Delta Air Lines and Etihad Airways.
