According to him, “we have about 60,000 workers in the State but the Governor never think of downsizing like it was done in places like Kaduna and some other State.

“Before the emergence of Tambuwal, pensioners were owed up to seven years, but it is now a thing of the past compared to some states that still owe up to 5 years.

“There is something we all know in Sokoto, we never heard any government that believes in accountability like Tambuwal, it is on record that the total allocation for the state since inception of this administration is just above 130b naira, whereas payment of salary and pension has so far gulped over 90b naira,” he stated.

The Labour leader, however, urged the workers in the state to pay the Governor back by voting him for a second term in office, so as to continue the good work.

In his remarks, Governor Tambuwal reassured workers in the state that payment of new minimum wage as approved by the National Economic Council, when passing into law will be fully implemented in the state.

On the issue of retired health workers at the local government, he revealed that a committee will be set to sit down with state government and local government service commission to look into their grievances and pay them what is due to everybody.

Meanwhile, the Governor has restated that his administration has never punished any civil servant for supporting any political party of their choice.

According to him, ” The Supreme Court has given civil servants leeway to play politics reasonably, but not to be partisan while still in service.

“I know a top government official in my administration who is presently the secretary of the opposition party ( APC) in the state. I have never requested for his file or given him a query on that.

“My advice is that any serving civil servant, who is a member of the opposition parties in the state should do it with fear of God and not to destabilize the government,” he stated.
