The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland (Edo and Delta States), Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola has charged Muslims in Nigeria to be more proactive in their efforts towards providing qualitative education for their children as this is the only way their children can be prevented from engaging in thuggery, hooliganism or becoming agents of destruction in the hands of politicians or other individuals in the society.
Alhaji Akinola made this charge in Abeokuta, while speaking during the foundation laying of the extension of Abadia Mosque situated along MKO Abiola way, Abeokuta Ogun State.
The Aare Musulumi, who described education as a veritable tool for an individual to be useful in the society, stated that acquiring western education alongside quranic education would enable a person to differentiate between what is moral and immoral and have the fear of Allah in his dealings with others in the society.
He commended the sponsors which included the Founder/Proprietor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Chief Bola Ajibola (SAN), and the Baba Adinni of Egbaland who is also the former governor of Sokoto and Bauchi States, Rtd. Captain Rasheed Raji and others, for their efforts towards the construction of the mosque and using their wealth in the way of Allah.
He encouraged other Muslim ummah to emulate their philanthropic nature and imbibe the culture of using their wealth and connection to serve God and humanity.
Speaking on behalf of other sponsors, Chief Bola Ajibola (SAN) explained that the purpose of building the mosque was to serve as an expansion for the already existing one which can no longer accommodate the worshippers during worship and enjoined all Muslims to put their trust in Allah and do good deeds to one another irrespective of the challenges they might be facing.
Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola was accompanied to the event by other members of the Aare-in-council.
