Protest: Suspend demonstrations, engage in dialogue – Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has called on protesters to suspend their demonstrations and engage in dialogue with the government at both federal and state levels.

In a post on X on Sunday evening, the senator stated that this is the democratic way to address grievances and negotiate demands.

According to the former lawmaker, Sani, the protesters should raise a team to dialogue with the government, where they can discuss their concerns and work towards finding solutions.

He emphasised that this approach is in line with democratic principles and would allow for constructive engagement between the protesters and the government.

He posted, “After the President’s speech, the Protesters should suspend their protests and raise a team to dialogue with the Government at the Federal and state levels; there they can negotiate on their demands. That is how democracy works.”

Recall that President Bola Tinubu addressed the nation in a national broadcast on Sunday morning asking the protesters to allow dialogue.

The broadcast which many have condemned.
