President Tinubu
A group under the auspices of Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) has advised youths engaged in the ongoing nationwide protests to suspend the action, stop destroying properties and embrace dialogue.
Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN), Mr Chris Kohol made the call at a press conference in Abuja.
Kohol acknowledged the frustrations driving the call for protest but highlighted the potential for economic sabotage and national instability that such actions could incite. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is barely fourteen months in office.
“While the desire for immediate change is understandable, we must also consider the long-term benefits of his economic reforms.”
Kohol expressed concern that the protest is already causing chaos, destruction of property, and loss of lives, which is not in the best interest of the nation.
He urged all stakeholders, including civil rights activists, political leaders, and the broader community, to support the administration’s efforts and work collaboratively towards constructive solutions.
“Young entrepreneurs and youths have a critical role to play in shaping Nigeria’s economic future,” Kohol emphasized. “Let us channel our energies into building innovative solutions, creating jobs, and driving growth. Together, we can make a difference.”
He also called on the political class to focus on governance and provide constructive feedback rather than sponsor protests. “Let us engage in meaningful discussions that promote nation-building and economic growth,” Kohol urged.
He encouraged youths to take advantage of government initiatives like the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and other federal grants and loans programs.
“At this time, let us prioritize national unity and peace. We must appreciate the leadership efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr. George Akume. Let us appeal for greater dividends of democracy for our people,” Kohol concluded.
The Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria continue to champion the cause of national development under the banner: “Achieving Together, Building the Nation.”
