Published by

There was mild drama in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday at the commencement of the nationwide protest against economic hardship in the country as the security forces sealed off the popular Eagle Square slated for the take-off.

However, the organisers did not show up but rather surfaced at the Late MKO Abiola International Stadium for their show where they are currently holding Court.

Consequently, the dazed security personnel have to quickly mobilise to the stadium.

All the linking routes to the Three Arms zone housing the Presidential Villa, Federal Secretariat, the Supreme Court and the National Assembly, NASS were blocked by security vehicles

However, a handful of protesters still managed to gain access to the front of Eagle Square where they were doing their own show

All  government activities have been paralyzed as workers stayed off from  offices while security has been increased at the National Assembly and workers stayed off too

A combined team of security personnel were also on patrol for security reasons

As of the Press time, no violent incident has been recorded.
