Protest: Policeman reported dead miraculously survived — Force PRO

The police announced on Saturday that a policeman initially reported dead on the first day of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests has “miraculously survived” but remains in critical condition.

Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi revealed that nine police officers sustained various degrees of injuries during the protests.

Additionally, a total of 681 suspects have been arrested for various violent crimes across several states, including Abuja, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Nasarawa, and Sokoto.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun had previously stated that one policeman was killed and others seriously injured during the protests, which he described as “mass uprising and looting, not protests.”

In response to the unrest, the Nigeria Police Force has placed all units on red alert, with officers fully mobilised to ensure public safety and order.

The #EndBadGovernance protests, initiated against economic hardship and scheduled for ten days, continued into their third day on Saturday, with determined youths insisting that President Bola Tinubu address their demands.
