Prophet Igweze charges FG on education

Published by

GENERAL Overseer and presiding minister of Greater Promise Land Covenant Ministry, Prophet Elijah David Igweze, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, to fulfil the change agenda.

He also urged them to re-introduce the free and qualitative education programme of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

He stated this in his sermon at the international headquarters of the church at Shomolu, tagged: Where is the True and Original Change of this Present Administration?.

He said: “The leadership of this nation has derailed, misled, and mismanaged the corporate entity called Nigeria right from the 1970s to the early 80s. The current mess assumed greater proportion in 1984 till date unabated.

“The popular slogan then, One Nigeria, has been rubbished and abandoned. Rights of citizens, privilege, equity, resource control as enshrined in the constitution, has been bastardised. Every ethnic or region has equal right to power and opportunities.

“The leadership of this nation should embrace true federalism based on positive restructuring of Nigeria,” he stated.

He lamented the inability of the present administration to fulfil the much-talked-about free meals for students, monthly upkeep sum of N5,000 for unemployed Nigerians, and other yet-to-be-fulfilled promises.

He called on President Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, speed up efforts geared towards making the lives of the citizens worthwhile.

He also encouraged political leaders in administration at all levels to work for the development of the country.
