A prophet, Opeyemi Sunday, 32, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ado-EkitiĀ Chief Magistrate Court over alleged stealing.
The Police Prosecutor Insp. Caleb Leranmo told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 25, 2019 at about 12:30 pm inĀ Afao-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of the state.
He alleged that the accused, on the said date, unlawfully stole a BajajĀ Boxer Motorcycle with no registration number on it, belonging to one Yusuf Seyi.
According to him,Ā the offence contravened Section 390Ā of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State. 2012.
The accused pleaded not guilty as his lawyer, Mr Timileyin Omotosho prayed the court to grant bail to his client on liberal terms, with a promise not to jump bail.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate, Ade LawalĀ , consequently granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case to September 11, 2019, for further hearing.
