Prophet Alu Alo condemns recent murders in Ekiti

Renowned cleric, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has condemned the recent killings in Ekiti State, describing them as “barbaric” and “ungodly.” Alo expressed shock and sadness over the senseless murder of innocent lives in the state.

It was reported that a popular Point of Sale (POS) operator, identified as Alfa Taofeek, was murdered in front of his shop, opposite Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

Additionally, gunmen stormed the popular Bisi market and killed a wheelbarrow hawker selling rice. On Tuesday of this week, gunmen on motorcycles also shot dead a ticket officer of the Okada Riders, Omoyajowo Samuel, at Okesa Area of Ado Ekiti.

In a statement signed by Deji Ogunbusuyi, the Personal Assistant to Alo, who is the Planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, the cleric called on the government and security agencies to take immediate action to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Prophet Sam Olu Alo described the recent killings in Ekiti State as a stark reminder of the evil that has plagued society.

He emphasized the need for spiritual intervention and urged the people of Ekiti to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

Alo who commiserated with the families of the victims, praying that God would grant them the strength to bear their loss.

He also urged the state government to take concrete steps to address the root causes of violence and ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

Addressing the demand for a new minimum wage by organized labour, Alo expressed concern about the potential consequences.

He suggested that instead of focusing solely on increasing wages, efforts should be made to reduce electricity tariffs, prices of goods and services, and food prices.

He argued that even if the minimum wage were increased to N500,000, it would lead to a rise in the cost of services and goods, such as higher charges from bricklayers, mechanics, and market vendors.
