Prof Osemene becomes ICAN chair

Professor Olubunmi Florence Osemene, on Saturday, July 8, 2023, became the second District Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ogbomoso and District Society.

At the event held at The Hall, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Prof. Lanre Nassar, a former Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH was the Chairman while Prof Olajide Oladele, a former Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), was the guest speaker. Prof Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, FCA (VC, University of Ilesha) and Prof. Segun Odunola (VC, Hallmark University) were among the dignitaries in attendance. The Special Guest of Honour was the 59th President of ICAN, Dr Innocent Iweka Okwuosa, who was represented by Mr. Biodun Adedeji (21st Chairman, Ibadan District Society of ICAN).

The royal father of the day, HRM Oba Sunday Oyediran, Lagbami Osekun 111, Onpetu of Ijeruland pledged to donate one acre of land to build ICAN secretariat and resource centre in Ogbomoso.

Prof. Osemene said her administration would ensure the continuing education of members to ensure excellent delivery of various tasks in their respective offices and to meet up with 21st century workplace demands.
