The Chief Executive Officer, GText Homes, Dr Stephen Akintayo, has said that the private sector should create more jobs and make them available to the unemployed youths in order to solve the country’s insecurity issues.

Dr Akintayo made this known while unveiling the company’s upcoming Global Property Brokers Conference where John Maxwell, Ryan Sergant, others have been billed to speak on how Nigerian youths could be gainfully employed.

The CEO stated that the spate of killings, kidnapping and banditry activities in the country is alarming and the problem is the rising unemployment crisis.

He added that leadership crisis too is inseparable in the country’s current predicament as a good leader will know how best to chart a development course for the country.

“As a private sector, we have to find a way to create jobs for the unemployed youths as the insecurity crisis in the country to be on the increase.

“It is so alarming that the spate of killings, kidnapping and banditry activities in the country in the country and it is undoubtable that the cause is the lack of jobs.

“It is a no brainer. If we don’t want insecurity to be an issue, we have to create jobs even in the private sector.

“We are having a leadership crisis. A state Governor will not own up to what is going on in the country. The Private sector needs to start moving in.” He said.

Speaking on the company’s efforts at reducing the country’s unemployment, Akintayo stated that his company created an employment platform for 100,000 people in real estate.

Stephen explained that 15 per cent of the company’s income is committed to that, adding that other companies have been called upon to plug into the system as this would help in forcing down the unemployment rate.

“Last year, we created a platform to help employ 100,000 people in the real estate sector and we are committing 15 per cent of our income into that.

“We have already taken 100,000 and between last year and now we already have over 5,000 people in the program.

“So, in terms of unemployment that is why we made the event open so other companies can plug in the system so as to reduce unemployment.

“So, it will definitely force down the unemployment rate.” Dr Akintayo said.
