Prioritise peace, safety, Ahmadiyya Movement charges election stakeholders

A spiritual leader of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Ayorinde, has charged all election stakeholders to prioritise peace and safety as the nation heads to the elections.

Alhaji Ayorinde, who is the Chief Imam of the South West Council Ahmadiyya Movement Central Mosque, Idikan, Ibadan, gave the admonition in a lecture titled “The Duties of Citizens Before, During and After the Elections,” at the grand finale of the movement’s one-month national prayer programme for national security and peaceful conduct of the 2019 election.

Speaking on the programme, Ayorinde implored every Nigerian of voting age to exercise their franchise peacefully and wait for the results to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He urged security personnel and other stakeholders in the electoral process to ensure that they discharge their duties without fear or hindrance.

He pleaded with politicians to accept the outcomye of the elections in good faith and for the peace of the nation.

 

The Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam prayed for peace to reign in the nation before, during and after the elections and for the safety of all parties involved.
