Sijuade, with officers of Ibadan North Diocese at the inauguration of Ibadan North Diocese of the African Church at Saviour’s African Church Cathedral, Ekotedo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Primate of the African Church, The Most Reverend Emmanuel Josiah Udofia, has called on the clergy and lay members of the church to cooperate towards ensuring church growth.
He made the submission at the inauguration of Ibadan North Diocese of the African Church on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Saviour’s African Church Cathedral, Ekotedo, Ibadan.
While inaugurating the diocese, which comprised Saviour’s Archdeaconry, Holy Trinity Archdeaconry, Kuta Archdeaconry and Apata archdeaconry, Primate Udofia prayed for the diocese and its officers and members, noting that only by cooperation can the church manifest fruitfulness, growth and the manifestation of God’s glory.
Lay president of the African Church, Chief Olubukunola Okunowo, who presented the certificate of inauguration to the diocese, urged them to embrace renewed efforts to support the growth of the diocese and the church in general.
The event, which featured exhortation, presentations by the choir, brigade and children’s department, had Engr ‘Segun Falade; Venerable Oluwajimi Dairo; Chief (Mrs) C.O. Ajagbe; Evang. (Mrs) C.I. Adesiyan; Mr Wole Abass; Pastor Adedayo Fafiolu and Mr Bosun Osifalujo as inauguration committee members.
Also present at the event included: Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, who was represented by Evangelist (Mrs) Felicia Opakunle; Deputy Lay President, The African Church, Hon. Oladosu Oladipo; Archbishop of Ibadan Province, Most Reverend Julius Abbe; Vice Lay President of Ibadan Diocese, Prince C.A. Sijuade; Hon. Provincial Vice Lay President, Lagos Province and Vice Lay President, Lagos Mainland Diocese, Chief B.A. Odufuwa, who was also the special launcher at the event, as well as clerics and members of the church.
Officers of the newly inaugurated diocese are Prince C.A. Sijuade (Hon. vice lay president); Evang. Dr Annah Afolabi (incoming vice lay president); Evang. M.O. Fasola (diocesan secretary); Mr Femi Owolabi (treasurer); Mr Dele Ayileka (legal adviser); Mr Bosun Osifalujo (statistician); Mr Ajibola Oyetunde (publicity secretary); Mr. E.A. Peters (auditor); Mr A.D. Olowoniyi (financial secretary), and Evang. Wole Olaitan (educational secretary).
