Primate Ositelu for WCC 2018 Geneva public panel discussion

PRIMATE and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Church of The Lord (Prayer Fellowship) Worldwide, Dr Rufus Okikiola Ositelu, will tomorrow attend a public panel discussion in Geneva.

The event, being hosted by the World Council of Churches (WCC), has as its theme, Christianity and Human Rights in Multi-Faith Nigeria.

Billed to take place from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Visser’t Hooft Hall, Ecumenical Centre, Geneva, the panel of the event will review Primate Ositelu’s book entitled Christianity: Inside story from an African Perspective.

According to a statement from the Church of the Lord, a press conference follows the discussion, which forms part of the Primate’s visit to Geneva.

The statement further stated that the event would feature a discussion on “current challenges for Christianity in Nigeria and Africa as a whole as well as how churches address human rights violations in a multi-faith context.”

The General Secretary of WCC, Reverend Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, will receive Primate Ositelu. Also expected to be in attendance are WCC Deputy General Secretary, Professor Dr Isabel Apawo Phiri; Founder of Globethics.net Foundation and Executive Director of Geneva Agape Foundation, Prof. Dr Christoph Stuckelberger and Professor of Ecumenical Missiology at the Ecumenical Institute in Bossey, Reverend Dr Benjamin Simon.

Other panelists include the Senior Advisor for Theology, Ecumenical Education and Research at Bread for the World – Protestant Development Service, Reverend Professor Dr Dietrich Werner and WCC Director of Communication, Marianne Ejdersten.
