THE youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the north-central zone of Nigeria have endorsed the Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, for the next presidential election in 2019.
Apart from this, the youths said it was time the north-central zone of Nigeria is allowed to produce the president of the country several years after its independence.
The chairman of the parliament of the PDP youth leaders of the zone, Stephen Onoji, who said this in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, said Saraki had paid his dues and is fit to govern the country.
He said the Senate president with his experience and leadership quality is capable of returning Nigeria to the path to greatness and bring hope to the people of the country.
According to him, the country was tired of “analogue president,” saying Nigeria needed a millennium compliant leader that would freely interact with his colleagues and the people through technology.
He said, “The youths of the North-central and entire Nigeria are tired of gerontocracy as president, we need people with capacity, intellectual sagacity and other basic components of leadership, we need a millennium compliant president, this analogue leadership has set us back by 50 years, we have moved back to pre independence.
“Senator Bukola Saraki, the senate president is a youth and we want our president to spend more time in Nigeria with us and manage our economy and other aspects of life, rather than spending half of the tenure in diaspora hospitals, we are tired of medical tourism.

“We want a president that is a democrat, that has experience in the private sector, a president that has seen it all, we want a man that can accommodate all. If you can see from the example of the senate as it is presently constituted, you will find out that chairmanship of committess is beyond party affiliation, we have a senate president that is the president of the entire senate and not of a particular political party.”
Onoji however appealed to delegates from the state that would be electing the presidential candidate of the PDP to back the presidential bid of the former Kwara state governor.
He said, “The PDP delegates, especially those from north central should promote their own, if they dont promote their own, no outsider will come and promote him for you, we should pick our best, senate president Bukola Saraki is the best we have now, he has paid his dues.
“Without Saraki, by now we would have been in full blown dictatorship, we need somebody that will unite the nation, I see this in Saraki, who is a detribalised person with cognate experience, we are tired of mediocrity and incompetence. The northcentral has overwhelmingly endorsed Bukola Saraki as the next president of theis great nation.”
