Clerics of the New Life for All Nations Ministries, a.k.a., New Life Gospel Church, with headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State, have called on Christians to prepare for Christ’s judgment as the end time could be nearer than expected.
They stated this at a press conference held recently for the church’s annual conference and convention scheduled to take place from Thursday, 22nd December till Sunday, 25th December, with the theme, “The Hour of His Judgment.”
General Overseer of the ministry, Pastor Ade Adeoye, who thanked God for the past one year since he became general overseer, called for Christians to prepare for the coming year, keeping in mind that God’s judgment was at hand. He also advised government to keep service to the people in mind and show good examples with leadership.
Assistant General Overseer of the ministry and Chairman of the planning committee of the conference, Pastor S.F. Edokpayi, speaking on the choice of the theme, stated that it was a follow-up to the theme of the 2015 conference, “Trimming Your Lamp,” because the church was aiming to develop Christians through teaching, in the light of the fact that the end of time and to create awareness that God’s judgment was near.
According to him, “we remember a lot of days – birthdays, wedding anniversary dates, dates we bought new cars, among others but nobody remembers the day of judgment. We want everybody to examine what he/she is doing now so that at Christ’s return, He may not meet us unprepared.”
General Secretary and Executive Director of Administration of the ministry, Pastor Olumide Orekoya, speaking with TribuneChurch, stated that the theme for the conference was timely as God was calling His people to repentance.
Director of Finance, Pastor M. Bayode, who gave thanks to God for his grace upon the church and His people, said that even in recession, God continues to meet the needs of the people, even beyond expectations and what was realised in previous years.
