We are praying for Buhari’s quick recovery —C&S Church

The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, Umuahia Province, Abia State, has explained why the 2017 annual provincial thanksgiving service was devoted to praying for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Special Senior Apostle and Chairman, Umuahia Province of the church, F.N. Agbugba, stated this shortly after the programme last Sunday.

He urged Nigerians to always remember the president in their daily prayers because “President Buhari deserves the prayers of Nigerians, going by the fact that he is the leader and God said in His Holy book that we should pray for our leaders.”

On the southern Kaduna crisis, where over 800 lives were reported to have been lost, Agbugba challenged politicians in the area to state the facts of the crisis, as according to him, the reports of the crisis seemed far from the truth.

He also prayed to God to grant the country peace.

On the provincial thanksgiving service, the cleric said the programme was organised every last Sunday of January to appreciate God for His mercies at beginnings of the year.

The event attracted the eight districts in the state.

Agbugba said aside prayers for the nation and its leaders for peace and goodwill, it was an avenue for believers to present their requests for the year for God’s approval.

He called on worshippers, particularly members of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, to draw closer to God for blessings.

The cleric observed that winning souls for Christ was the main target of the church, urging Christians to subject themselves to prayers.

He further called for prayers to seek divine intervention for the nation’s current recession.
