Prayer session holds for Yusuf Buhari in Aso Rock’s mosque

Following his involvement in a power bike accident in Abuja, on Tuesday night, the staff of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, on Thursday, in Abuja, offered special prayers for the quick recovery of Yusuf, President Muhammadu Buhari’s son.

The prayer session followed afternoon prayer (Asr) led by the Chief Imam of Aso Rock Mosque, Sheik Abdulwahid Suleiman.

Suleiman prayed for God’s guidance and protection of the first family and all Nigerians as well as prayed for peace and tranquillity in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has also expressed shock at the news of the involvement of Yusuf in the accident.

In a statement issued by Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the party in Abuja on Thursday, the leading opposition party said it was reassured by reports from the Presidency that he is in a steady condition.

The PDP prayed for Yusuf’s speedy recovery to enable him to return to his normal life.
It commended the prompt intervention by medics even as we value the concern of all well-meaning Nigerians for their prayers for Yusuf and the first family.
The president had indicated on Wednesday that Yusuf was in stable condition in hospital following injuries he sustained in the accident.

The incident was said to have occurred while riding the bike around Gwarimpa area of Abuja. 

He suffered a head injury and multiple limb fractures.

A statement issued by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, to the president, Garba Shehu, had confirmed that Yusuf broke a limb and had a head injury.

The three-paragraph statement declared: “Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident last night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja

“He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition.

“The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son.

“May God reward you all.”
