HOUSE of Representatives candidate for Ogun State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abiodun Fagbamila, said he is in the race because he wants the best for the people of Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency of the state, even as he described the poor state of affairs in Nigeria as a generational crisis to which everyone was responsible including himself and, therefore, the need for everyone to join hands to rescue the country.
Fagbamila said this at a press conference which took place at his residence in Olambe area of the state, promising to ensure the provision of good roads, maintenance of existing ones, education, good healthcare delivery, and other basic needs, if elected into office.
The aspirant, an expert in urban and regional planning who was based in the US before returning home to serve his people, saying he was running an errand for his constituents having been sent to bring about these basic needs which they seriously craved for.
“We’ve all kept quiet all along, it has become a generational crisis. My generation is part of those that have created the crisis. There is a need for people like me to come back and see how we can rescue the nation.
“We have to make life better for our people. We have to make them happy and how do you make them happy? There is a need for us to provide the basic needs, we should know that these people need, housing, water, electricity, roads, and all that they need to make life comfortable for them.

“It is pertinent for my own generation to come back and see how we can resolve all the problems and I want to promise my constituency that I would do all within my power to make sure they get 90per cent of all they needed in respect of basic needs, infrastructural development, maintenance of existing ones, food on their table, good healthcare delivery, these are all the areas I am going to fight, I will fight for my constituency under Ogun State,” he said.
While saying he would not shy away from serving his good people of Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Fagbamila said his dream was to see his constituency become small America or small London and be a shining example to other constituencies, declaring that he cared not about what people might say to that.
“It’s clear to the minds and the eyes that these are the things that are good for the people, but must I shy away from that responsibility to go and fight for my people? he queried.
“They are sending me there (House of Representatives) to go and fight for them to get the basic needs, infrastructure facilities that need to be developed. There should be good roads, there should be water for them to drink, healthcare delivery must be fantastic, we must put food on their table and that is why the government is there, that is what it’s out there to do,” he said, contending that whatever revenue generated in this country was meant for the people’s welfare, and the need to look into that and take care of the people.
“I am going there to fight for it. I am not making mouth, am ready aggressively, and I want the best for my constituency, whether they like it or not, they must listen to me.
“They have to provide these things for my people in Ewekoro, it doesn’t cost us anything. Give us our own and let us develop our own area, it’s as simple as that,” Fagbamila said.
