It was learnt that the Union leaders were very frank at the brief meeting with the Police as they were quoted as saying that the only way out of the four-day strike was the management to meet their demands and vowed not to shift ground until they received bank alerts.
Also speaking on the development, the National President of PASAN, Comrade Hadi Bala declared that there was no going back on the four-day warning strike embarked upon by members following the failure of the NASS management to honour the agreement reached with the Union leaders after the last warning strike.
Comrade Hadi dismissed the speculation making the round that the Union members were out to scuttle the presentation of the 2019 budget before the joint sitting of the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari slated for tomorrow.
According to him,” this is far from it, we are not preventing the lawmakers from performing their duties and also we are not preventing President Buhari from coming for the presentation, what we are saying is that our members are on a four day warning strike, during this period, the services of our members will not be available.
” we are going to sustain this strike as planned, we have many strategies already mapped out to sustain it, one of such is what is happening today, and if there is a need to change gear so as to sustain it, we will do that almost immediately, this is just a warning strike, when we are ready for the strike proper, we not hesitate to do so.”
