Police to deploy 4,452 personnel for election in Nasarawa

NASARAWA State Police Command has said that it will deploy 4,452 police personnel for election’s duty to maintain law and order.

The state Police Commissioner, Bola Longe said this in a press conference in Lafia the state capital, that the command is prepared to use its conventional, mobile and counterterrorist police men throughout the state.

According to the police Boss, his command would also be supported by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Prison Service.

Others that will support police are Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and Nigeria Customs Service.

He urged a member of the public for intelligence report of any attempt to cause violence before, during and after the elections.

“The police is appealing to the good members of the public to assist it with intelligence report of any attempt to break the peaceful atmosphere of the state by disgruntled elements before, during and after the general elections.”
