Police smash robbery syndicate

A robbery syndicate has been smashed by the men of the Ogun State Police Command, who had been terrorising residents of Ogijo and its environs.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects were nabbed by the operatives from Federal Special Anti-Robbery Special Squad (FSARS), led by DSP Uba Adams.

The policemen were said to have been informed by spirited members of the public that the gan  had camped themselves in their hideout at Sotogbo area, where they were planning to attack innocent citizens.

It was gathered that they swung into action and stormed the place,  leading to the arrest of two members of the gang, Sesan and Tunde (surnames withheld), while two others are at large.

Five pump action riffles were recovered from them.

The Commissioner of Police, Metro learnt, had ordered a serious manhunt on the escaped members of the gang, as he commended the efforts of the FSARS men also appealed to the public to partner the police by giving them useful information in order to rid the state of crime and criminality.
