Police seal Emir of Kano’s palace

Published by

Police officers, equipped with advanced gear, took over the Emir of Kano’s palace as early as 6 a.m. on Friday sealing the palace.

At the time of filing this report, the reasons for the sealing of the palace remained unclear.

However, a source within the palace suggested it might be related to plans by Emir Muhammad Sanusi to address an economic summit involving key stakeholders.

Another source hinted that the situation could be tied to Emir Sanusi’s intention to appoint a district head for Bichi town, a position previously nullified by the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

As of this report, Emir Sanusi has made an appearance, accompanied by traditional gunshots fired into the air to signify his presence.

The police, in turn, have been firing tear gas to disperse the crowd gathered around the palace.
