The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a victim, recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and six rounds of live ammunition, and arrested two suspects involved in a gunshot incident.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, it was revealed that on the evening of April 12, 2025, police operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugu-Ukwu responded promptly to a shooting incident in Ukwulu, preventing the situation from escalating further.

According to Ikenga, the operatives rescued a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound while also recovering one AK-47 rifle, one pistol, and six rounds of live ammunition. Two suspects were arrested at the scene.
Ikenga further stated that the suspects are currently undergoing police interrogation, while the victim was immediately taken to the hospital and is now receiving medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that both the victim and the armed suspect, who had sought the assistance of another, are brothers. They have reportedly been involved in an ongoing, serious dispute.
The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a more thorough investigation.
