A police patrol team attached to Ganjuwa Division in collaboration with Danga Security, at the weekend, rescued two female hostages from kidnappers in Bauchi.
The police had stormed the kidnappers’ hideout at Buzun forest in Ganjuwa L.G.A of the state.
On sighting the police, the hoodlums were said to have opened fire and a fierce gun battle ensued which lasted for more than an hour.
As a result, two suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded while one Mustapha Sarkin Bindigan Gali, and a member of Danga Security also sustained gunshot injury.
It was gathered that the casualties including the rescued victims were taken to General Hospital Kafin Madaki for medical attention where the two suspected kidnappers and one member of Danga Security were certified dead by a medical doctor.
“We must deny these groups the undue publicity they crave,” the minister said.
