Police parade 23 suspects over alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, others

The Police at the weekend paraded 23 suspected criminals nabbed for various  offences raging form alleged kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling along the Abuja- Kaduna and Suleja-Minna highways.
The suspects, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, CSP, Jimoh Moshood,‎were nabbed by the Operatives attached to  the Inspector-General of Police IGP Ibrahim Idris’s Special Tactical Squad  (STS) uneder a special Force code named “Operation Absolute Sanity” of the Force at various hide outs
While Parading the suspects before newsmen at Gawu Babangida Police Division of Gurara Council Area of Niger State on Friday night,  the FPRO  said they were arrested by men of the STS following a tip off which eventually paid off.
He said that the IGP immediately after being alerted odered the deplloment of a team of men of the Operation Absolute Sanity of the Force who swung into action leading to the arrests of suspects
He disclosed that the arrest were made between 7th – 15th this year on the expresses ways and its environs.
He identified the first gang of kidnap for ransom suspects as Bello Garba; Nasiru Mohammed; Saminu Jibrin; Musa Usman; Ahmadu Musa; Yazid Umar; Usman Mamuda; Ismailia Haruna and Dahiru Bello- the last two being held as armourers to the group
The Force image maker also named second gang of armed robbery/ cattle rustling suspects as Mohammed Saidu; Usman Wakil, Yusuf Sani; Hussain Yakubu and Murktar Ayuba.
He further identified the third group of  kidnap for ransom/armed robbery suspects as Nasiru Bogi; Ibrahim Mohammed and Mamuda Yakubu.
The Police spokesman also named the fourth group of kidnap for ransom/armed robbery suspects as Yahaya Yakubu; Hassan Yakubu; Aliyu Mamuda and Salihu Yakubu.
Moreover, the prime suspect one Bello Garba and four of the suspects were arrested with their camouflage Nigerian Army uniform as dismissed soldiers after robbing a victim of eight million naira (N8,000000.00) in his residence at  Abuja
He further said that all the suspects arrested had confessed to the various roles they played in the above mentioned crimes and added that efforts are being made to apprehend those suspects still at large.
The Police boss also hinted that they would all soon  be arraigned in  courts after the conclusion of the on-going investigations into the matter.
He however quoted the IGP as saying that the current raid of the hide outs of criminals nationwide would continue untill they were liquidated
