Police nab two over man’s death in Ondo hotel

Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested two people in connection with the death of a middle-aged civil servant, Abiodun Akintomowo, who died during a sex romp in Ondo town.

Akintomowo was said to have died in a hotel around Akinjagunla area of the town, on Sunday, while on a sex romp with his girlfriend.

An eyewitness explained that woman raised the alarm when the man collapsed and was gasping in the hotel after the alleged sex romp.

She said; “The woman raised the alarm after realising that the man collapsed, the manager of the hotel and some residents raced to the scene and made frantic efforts if they could rescue the man, he was later confirmed dead”

She explained that the management of the hotel tried to revive the deceased before he gave up and the incident was reported at the Yaba Divisional Police Station in the community

She said the policemen visited the scene of the incident and evacuated the lifeless body of the deceased to the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences in Ondo town.

Speaking on the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmi Odunlami, who did not reveal the identity of the suspects, said one of the suspects was a girlfriend of the deceased while the second suspect was the owner of the hotel where the incident happened.

The PPRO said, “The man (deceased) was not feeling alright after the sexual intercourse with the lady in the hotel, so he was rushed to the hospital and later died. The two suspects are still in our custody”.

According to PPRO, investigation into the matter was still ongoing but said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of a hospital in the town.
