Police nab two for electoral violence in Sokoto

Published by

The Nigerian Police Force, Sokoto State Command, has arrested two individuals for disrupting the electoral process during the Saturday re-run elections in the state.

The spokesperson of the command, ASP Ahmed Rufai, while speaking with our correspondent in the state, said the two persons were apprehended at Magaji Polling Units in Shagari.

“We have arrested two individuals in Mazuzi Polling Units in the Kambalawa Ward of Shagari Local Government. The two individuals pretended as if they wanted to cast their votes and, in the process, disturbed the election process. Both of them have been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing.”

He, however, warned citizens who have no reason to visit polling units against going there, stating that security agents will not hesitate to deal with anyone wandering at any of the 46 polling units.
