THE Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested one Sunday Ojo, 32, who allegedly disguised as a cab driver to rob unsuspecting passengers of cash and other valuables.
According to a release made available to Metro by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anjuguri Manzah, on April 12, police operatives attached to Iddo Police Division, following a discreet investigation, arrested the suspect at his residence at Gbesa village for robbing his female passenger of N70,000, wristwatch and her ATM card, which was used by the suspect to withdraw N100,000 from the victim’s bank account.
According to the victim (names withheld), she boarded the suspect’s car along Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja, but was diverted by the suspect to Jedo Estate, Sabon Lugbe, where he robbed her of valuable items and cash.
“The suspect, in whose apartment the victim’s wristwatch and SIM card were recovered, has confessed to the crime and is helping the police in its investigation,” the PPRO added.
