Police must find Lagos DPO’s missing service pistol

Published by

There is need for the commissioner of police in Lagos to put up a special squad to recover the stolen service pistol of one Divisional police officer in Lagos. Many Nigerians were terribly disappointed when the circumstances surrounding the stealing of service pistol belonging to the divisional police officer of the Denton police station, in Lagos State, Atilade Adegoke, was revealed.

The said DPO has accused one Miss Jennifer Maduekwe of stealing his service pistol, a pistol he was supposed to guard diligently. The question now is who stole CSP Atilade Adegoke’s service pistol? I want to make a passionate appeal to whoever stole the service pistol to return it.

The Lagos State police command under the leadership of CP Hakeem Odumosu must ensure it gets to the root of this issue, this is not a matter to be taken lightly. It is a pity that a senior police boss could easily lose his official pistol without being robbed.

I also want to urge that the command install close-circuit television camera around all the divisional police stations across Lagos State now. This would have helped unravel the issue. This is a wrong time for the management of the Nigeria Police Force to lose any official gun when the nation is facing serious security challenges.

If the CCTV camera is installed at CSP Adegoke’s office, It would have been easier for him to identify the thief who took his pistol.
