Police investigate mysterious killings in Bauchi

WORRIED by the spate of incessant killings in Bauchi metropolis in recent times, the Bauchi State Police Command has commenced investigations into the mysterious killings by suspected yet to be identified cultists in the state capital who stab unsuspecting residents with sharp objects.

Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar disclosed this Thursday in Bauchi while answering questions from reporters on the mysterious killings.

“We have heard rumours of mysterious killings as a result of stabbing people with sharp objects by unknown motorcycle riders along Fadaman Mada and Gida Dubu housing estate axis in the metropolis. We have received only one case which was reported to us”, he said.

Kamal Datti Abubakar added that “Someone visited Tafawa Balewa Estate Police Division and informed us that his brother was stabbed with sharp objects by unknown motorcycle rider and he died but we received the report after the victims were buried.“

The Police spokesperson who expressed the commitment of the Police Command to providing safety and security to the populace in Bauchi state explained that they have commenced investigations into the matter and 12 people have so far been arrested.

“We are patrolling the areas and we are also conducting a stop and search as part of our effort get the culprits and bring them to justice”, he said and appealed to the public to provide useful information to the Police which will help them to arrest the criminals.

Residents of Bauchi metropolis have been living in palpable fear following the mysterious killings by yet to be identified killers who use sharp objects to stab their victims who were mostly unsuspecting pedestrians.
