A deadly clash between farmers and herders has erupted in Barkuta Village, Bosso Local Government Area, leaving one farmer dead and several others injured.
According to the Niger State Police Command, the incident occurred on August 27, 2024, when Alh. Suleiman Moh’d, a farmer, was killed by an unidentified suspect after discovering cattle grazing on his farm.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that Moh’d’s body was found in a river, prompting inter-tribal attacks in the area.
The Niger State Police Commissioner has assured that efforts are being made to arrest those responsible and prevent further violence.
